Raphaël Waxin

Raphaël Waxin is senior Safety Culture Coordinator at Total.

With a background in mechanical engineering, Raphaël started with Total as a Drilling & Wells supervisor in the Exploration and Production branch of the Group. He then became Drilling HSE & Methods in East Africa before joining Head Offices as a Drilling Major Risks coordinator.

Following a Master’s degree in Human and Organizational Factors at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) with Mines ParisTech and the Institute for an Industrial Safety Culture (ICSI), Raphaël became Total Blowout Prevention training (T-BOP) Human Factors instructor and wrote a professional thesis on technological risk management in Exploration Drilling projects.

Now based in Paris, Raphaël facilitates the deployment of Safety Culture improvement programs throughout Total and supports the Group with Human and Organisational Factors expertise.

He is a member of IOGP Human Factors Sub-Committee.
